The original games in the series are beloved first-person shooters, and fans never got closure on Gordon Freeman's story. I have to say I disliked Abby at first due to what she’d done but as the story progressed I thought it was great at showing the Impact of your actions on all sides and how there are no black or whites.Half-Life 3 is one of the most sought-after games of all time. I assumed that the shock death was going to happen though I guessed it would have been at a different protagonists hand after finding out the truth.(Or even would have happened already due to the time between the games which would have been worse). But even still the gameplay is brilliant and the graphics are ace even you replaced all the dialogue to ” I’m a potato” the game would still be a good game not trash.įor me at least the story was still emotionally well told and whilst not perfectly written still better then many games (and be LoU had it’s ‘really?’ elements to you look at it objectively. I can see someone not liking how the story developed and might have desires for different outcomes for characters. I had a kid so couldn’t play 4 on release so avoided all spoliers until I started playing it 4 weeks ago.

I loved LoU1 poured hours into PS3 and PS4 remaster. Possibly with a brief hint of how Abby was eventually killed, just for the satisfaction.Ĭan anyone explain why they think the game is trash? Make any future TLOU-games start fresh with all new characters. You got one of the best games in history with TLOU1, and TLOU2 was despite its flaws great. I’m not sure it is possible to repair the failed part of the story in a good way. Just as you by studying facts and personalities can understand why a murderer kills, but you still wish that person would just be catapulted to a very fiery place.Įven though I wish TLOU2 had ended differently, I don’t think continuing this story with TLOU3 is the smartest move. You do learn to understand Abby, but that does not change how you feel for her. That was however an impossible task after what Abby did. Make Abby look better and Ellie look worse by sending Ellie on a similar mission to Abbys. There was obviously massive attempts by the creators to generate sympathy for Abby. ) With that in mind it’s quite clear I would have liked a different ending. For once I did not mind watching the character I played get torn apart. It was a new experience to play as Abby, a character you just want to die. I still bought and played this one.įantastic game! So obsessed over the metacritic and goty when enjoying your hobby on your terms should be the thing. Obviously we will have people with platinums in here defending the game at all costs, but there are others that don’t share the hyperbole and the blind fold to the issues that were and are there. It is good to have things that encourage a discourse or debate, but the crowd for this game are unwilling to acknowledge why real fans have some mixed feelings about this effort. the lack of a payoff for the huge time investment the game asks. It doesn’t change the constant inane chatter and the unbelievable over the top story telling. You can go ad hominem towards me about my comments, but it doesn’t change the fact you spend the entire game crouching and spamming triangle to pick up stuff. I get they had the second character and the twist they felt they needed to protect, but they should have gone about things differently imo. The silencing of all the marketing reviewers and not giving customers an honest perception of the product. I feel like they wanted their cake and eat it too, as with the changing the age of Joel in trailers to manipulate preorders prior to release. This project took a lot of abuse, and on the other hand the the things ND did around the marketing of this game and going after people were not cool.
Have critical thinking when it comes to your hobby. Being obsessed with a product getting “GOTY” or whatever else doesn’t serve customers. I am a long time Sony Customer and ND fan, as it stands you have to make your own mind up.
Spend time in the things that give value to you. People need to stop taking products of corporations so personally and attacking others for not validating them or towing the marketing narratives.Įveryone has their perspective and it is fair, enjoy what you enjoy.
